Scott and I decided it's time for the two of us to take a trip. We haven't been away alone together since we went to Mexico for a late honeymoon after I graduated from law school.
We weren't sure at first where we wanted to go, but Scott was kind enough to let me pick the destination. We don't have the time or money to do anything quite as exciting as Mexico on this trip. My only requirement was that we go somewhere that won't be hot. We've had weeks of 90+ and 100+ degree weather here in Memphis and I have had enough! My first thought was Chicago. My first thought whenever I get a chance to go some where is Chicago. I just love Chicago. But Scott and I have been to Chicago together a few times, so I figured we should go somewhere new. I finally decided on Boston. We have both been there on business trips, but never for pleasure and never together.
We leave in a couple days. I can't wait!

I hope you two have fun in Boston! You should also consider the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Just as my mom, her and dad had a ball of a time. I want to say it was in the 80s the whole week with light rain when they came up over Labor Day weekend. It's the beach, so if you're not a beachcomber it may not be as fun, but there is the Wright Brothers Memorial and Museum, along with many of interesting historic sights to see in Manteo (stay at the Dare Haven Motel in Manteo -- best price in town, across the street from the Elizabethan Inn).
